From Law wiki, the wiki for law research[1902] AC 37 (HL). A Testator left half her estate to applied to such charitable or public purposes as my trustee thinks proper. The House of lords held that this did not create a validcharitable trust. The problem is that not all 'public purposes' are charitable, so it would be within the power of the trustees to apply the trust fund for non-charitable ends.
