Strictly, a conveyancer is anyone who carries out Conveyancing work, and may be a Solicitor. However, under the terms of the Administration of justice act (1985) authority to operate as a conveyancer may be granted by the Council for Licensed Convenyancers, and now conveyancers need not be solicitors. To avoid possible confusion to the public, Licenced Conveyancers are not allowed to work in partnerships with solicitors.
