From Law wiki, the wiki for law researchThe European Coal and Steel Community, the first of the 'European Communities', was established by the Treaty of Paris in 1951. The underlying purpose of the treaty was to reduce the likelihood of another war in Europe by allowing for free trade in coal and steel across the major states of Europe. The Treaty expired in 2002, but its provisions have largely been subsumed into the broader EEC.Contributors This page was last modified on 12 May 2011, at 04:33.This page has been accessed 834 times.
