The ratification of a will. Most wills are straightforward and arouse little if any serious disagreement. However, in some cases the wishes of the deceased may be either unclear or perceived as unfair. In such instances, the will may be challenged in court.

The hearing of probate cases is one of the functions of the Chancery Division of the High Court.
