[2000] PIQR P164 (QB). The claimant became pregnant after a condom manufactured by the defendant failed in use. She claimed damages for personal injury under the consumer protection act (1987). Her claim failed because it was not reasonable to expect that a condom would never fail. There was thus no 'defect' for the purposes of the Act.
