From Law wiki, the wiki for law researchAfter a new Bill has been discussed by committee in the Committee stage and by the whole House in the Report stage, it has its third and final reading. Although this is technically a debate, it is often very short and may be a formality, although if the Bill is politically controversial the Opposition may which to vote against it. The third reading may be held immediately after the report. Unless the Bill is voted out, which is unusual at this stage, it will usually be passed over to the other House for further consideration.
