Under the Lra (2002), a unilateral notice is entered on the land register to protect an interest claimed against the owner of the registered title. The title owner need not agree to the entry. Under the Lra (1925) such an entry was called a Caution. The entry does not prove that the claimed interest is valid, it merely protects the priority of the person entering the notice.
